    Hello. I purchased a Starling 2 Max development drone and when attempting a first flight test I discovered that one of the batteries arrived entirely dead. I was curious if there was a way to receive replacements, and if this falls within replacement territory. I contacted the support email and was directed here.     Hello everyone, I am looking for some expert advice on a VOXL 2 companion computer setup for a long-range platform. I have two main integration challenges: Challenge A: VIO at Higher Altitudes To solve the motion blur and pixel density issues at higher altitudes, I am planning a 6-camera configuration. I want to use 4 downward-facing sensors (2 daylight + 2 IR) equipped with narrow-angle lenses, alongside 2 standard wide-angle sensors (front and rear). Could you advise on the best supported sensors (e.g., IMX series) for this? Has anyone successfully tuned the voxl-qvio-server for narrow-angle lenses, and what were the altitude limits you achieved? Challenge B: LAN Integration & WireGuard The payload data flow will be: External RTSP Camera -> Ethernet -> VOXL 2 (WireGuard encryption) -> Ethernet -> Digital RX. Because VOXL 2 lacks multiple LAN ports, I will need a miniature industrial Ethernet switch. Does ModalAI have any tested hardware recommendations for this? Furthermore, what is the best practice for routing this VPN traffic through the VOXL 2 Ubuntu environment without bottlenecking the CPU? We are currently evaluating the VOXL 2 for a broader fleet deployment and want to ensure the ecosystem can support this custom optics requirement. Any feedback on off-the-shelf solutions or standard configurations for this use case would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    @Chad-Sweet The bad altitude reading will sometimes prevent us from arming - but it also effects the M500s in the air. During a loiter at a specified hold point, one of the M500s was bobbing up/down about ±50ft - another instance resulted in an M500 experiencing CFIT because it thought it was at an altitude higher than what it was

    @Raza-Rizvi That error message "voxl-mavlink-server does not appear to be running" isn't normal. You may want to run through voxl-configure-mpa again, set your host IP in voxl-vision-px4.conf, then reboot your drone.

    Hi @Brandon-Wightman Please review this diagram, and you can see the serial port is not a functional item in "standalone dongle mode", hence why it is DNI'd. https://docs.modalai.com/microhard-usb-carrier/#block-diagram If you are referring to the Microhard's UART port that we label "pDDL UART" here: https://docs.modalai.com/microhard-add-on-datasheet/#bottom-of-board that is present in either standalone or Voxl configs. You are right, we neglected to post that pinout, since you would actually be the first person in almost 4 years since we launched that product to ask for it. Please clarify if that is what you are after, and we can update our tech docs to include that pinout. However, we do not have Software for it, so you would be trail-blazing both HW and SW efforts here if you plan to develop it on your own. Thanks!

    Yes, I saw one camera you mentioned on there, but the SKU was wrong, so it is impossible for me to know which camera you are referring to. To quote the documentation: You can find the Arducam Specs and Selection guide by going here. The Arducam B0229 is an excellent choice. The B0229 is not an Arducam camera. It is a camera cable for Raspberry Pi. I would use some webcam listed on your UVC page, but I need a wide viewing angle and preferably IR support. Refresh rates less than 24Hz aren't really acceptable. They just don't really fit the bill. Maybe you know of a camera that would work? I'd prefer to get what I bought working, but I can get something different if necessary.
