Hello. I purchased a Starling 2 Max development drone and when attempting a first flight test I discovered that one of the batteries arrived entirely dead. I was curious if there was a way to receive replacements, and if this falls within replacement territory. I contacted the support email and was directed here. I can provide more information if needed.

Hello everyone, I am looking for some expert advice on a VOXL 2 companion computer setup for a long-range platform. I have two main integration challenges: Challenge A: VIO at Higher Altitudes To solve the motion blur and pixel density issues at higher altitudes, I am planning a 6-camera configuration. I want to use 4 downward-facing sensors (2 daylight + 2 IR) equipped with narrow-angle lenses, alongside 2 standard wide-angle sensors (front and rear). Could you advise on the best supported sensors (e.g., IMX series) for this? Has anyone successfully tuned the voxl-qvio-server for narrow-angle lenses, and what were the altitude limits you achieved? Challenge B: LAN Integration & WireGuard The payload data flow will be: External RTSP Camera -> Ethernet -> VOXL 2 (WireGuard encryption) -> Ethernet -> Digital RX. Because VOXL 2 lacks multiple LAN ports, I will need a miniature industrial Ethernet switch. Does ModalAI have any tested hardware recommendations for this? Furthermore, what is the best practice for routing this VPN traffic through the VOXL 2 Ubuntu environment without bottlenecking the CPU? We are currently evaluating the VOXL 2 for a broader fleet deployment and want to ensure the ecosystem can support this custom optics requirement. Any feedback on off-the-shelf solutions or standard configurations for this use case would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

@yx the configuration isn't done on macOS. You need to get an SSH connection to VOXL or use adb to connect to a shell over adb, https://docs.modalai.com/setup-adb/

@yx seens like the package manager link is out of date... e.g. this is last SDK http://voxl-packages.modalai.com/dists/apq8096/sdk-0.9/binary-arm64/ Perhaps easier to reflash with SDK 0.9.5 and go from there? https://docs.modalai.com/platform-releases/#install

@tom nevermind I found out the documentation here, and by reflashing the platform everything worked again! Thank you for the support!

@Eric-Katzfey I'll see if I can grab one here in a minute. Sorry, should mention it is going through a Voxl 2 IO board.

@yx It looks as though you're trying to use Ubuntu commands on Mac OS which won't work. While is is possible to install adb on Mac OS we can't provide much in terms of support. I would so a search for "installing ADB on Mac OS", my search brings me here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/31374085/installing-adb-on-macos which seems valid

@bensusana That'll cause the error for sure. I can assure you that the barometer cap and foam are not glued to the barometer. There would have had to been a significant force applied to have it ripped off. A crash could inflict the above, but not regular disassembly. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. Please fill out our RMA form with all prevalent information and send it to: contact@modalai.com where one of our representatives will reach out. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience and hope to resolve this in a timely manner.

@martongonczy We can't offer too much in terms of windows support and recommend users to use an Ubuntu machine. However a quick google gave me this link for adb install instructions on Windows: https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/

@Eric-Katzfey Thanks for the tip! The serial cable seemed to be OK, but updating the system to 0.9.5 via a fastboot recovery seemed to solve the problem. I think this issue relates to https://forum.modalai.com/topic/525/voxl-adb-or-wi-fi-no-longer-communicating but with the added symptom that I could ssh into the VOXL board over wifi as well as ADB in, but that the mavlink connection really seemed troublesome and QGC wasn't connecting over wifi. I just used VOXL Platform 0.9.5 for my update and that seemed to save things. (for those reading, make sure your extrinsics file is saved over on the /data/modalai partition! Mine was over there through good luck rather than foresight and confirmation on my part...)

@doe43john77 You're right, that isn't the case. That doc is a bit outdated (we're going through a massive overhaul of the docs at the moment that will be live in a few weeks) As long as both devices are connected to the same VPN it would work just fine. So you absolutely could have your host machine connected to the internet via. wifi / ethernet as long as it then connects to said VPN

@Eric-Katzfey said in QGC sensors - compass remains red: t isn't being specified correctly. It's kind of hard to tell in the picture but, at a minimum, the board is rotated 180 degrees. So it's the IMU rotation that needs to be set. yes, the board is rotated 180 degrees. So, how do I set the rotation of the IMU to 180 degrees? is it in the same config file? I rotate it 180 degrees as shown below [image: 1687064125357-aaaa.png]

Ok. I figured out the problem. The problem was my calibration chessboard. I taped the pattern to a cardboard box which resulted in some warping of the pattern. After I glued the pattern onto a flat hard surface the calibration worked.
