    Hello. I purchased a Starling 2 Max development drone and when attempting a first flight test I discovered that one of the batteries arrived entirely dead. I was curious if there was a way to receive replacements, and if this falls within replacement territory. I contacted the support email and was directed here. I can provide more information if needed.

    Hello everyone, I am looking for some expert advice on a VOXL 2 companion computer setup for a long-range platform. I have two main integration challenges: Challenge A: VIO at Higher Altitudes To solve the motion blur and pixel density issues at higher altitudes, I am planning a 6-camera configuration. I want to use 4 downward-facing sensors (2 daylight + 2 IR) equipped with narrow-angle lenses, alongside 2 standard wide-angle sensors (front and rear). Could you advise on the best supported sensors (e.g., IMX series) for this? Has anyone successfully tuned the voxl-qvio-server for narrow-angle lenses, and what were the altitude limits you achieved? Challenge B: LAN Integration & WireGuard The payload data flow will be: External RTSP Camera -> Ethernet -> VOXL 2 (WireGuard encryption) -> Ethernet -> Digital RX. Because VOXL 2 lacks multiple LAN ports, I will need a miniature industrial Ethernet switch. Does ModalAI have any tested hardware recommendations for this? Furthermore, what is the best practice for routing this VPN traffic through the VOXL 2 Ubuntu environment without bottlenecking the CPU? We are currently evaluating the VOXL 2 for a broader fleet deployment and want to ensure the ecosystem can support this custom optics requirement. Any feedback on off-the-shelf solutions or standard configurations for this use case would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi @Josh-Morehead S.BUS2 is not supported on ModalAI hardware (at this time). Please put your S.BUS2 device/receiver into legacy/conventional S.BUS mode. Additionally, for S.BUS receivers, please make sure you are using a cable meant for S.BUS that picks up 5V instead of the noted RC port we have which is 3.3V for Spektrum satellite receivers. This guide can help you convert a FCv1 S.BUS cable into FCv2: https://docs.modalai.com/cable-userguides/ See MCBL-00218-1 and MCBL-00064 both of which are based on MCBL-00018: https://docs.modalai.com/cable-datasheets/#mcbl-00018 We hope to have ready-made MCBL-00218/221 cables for purchase listed soon!     I have a 3 cell battery. I just looked at the vehicle settings in QGC and I see that the battery settings were set to the 4 cells. I changed it accordingly and the battery percentage now reads an acceptible 94%. Thank you.

    Use cam name = "stereo" and there should be an option for using either the left or right stereo camera. As Chad pointed out you will need to also configure extrinsics if they aren't already for the stereo camera. https://gitlab.com/voxl-public/voxl-sdk/services/voxl-qvio-server/-/blob/master/server/config_file.h#L155 I have a PR to fix an issue with using a stereo camera here with the QVIO Server: https://gitlab.com/voxl-public/voxl-sdk/services/voxl-qvio-server/-/merge_requests/10 that you will need as well I believe.

    @Matthew-Hood I don't know how to do that off the top of my head but it may be possible. All of what you're trying to do will be very difficult without having some kind of network connection to the drone in order for you ground station to communicate with it over a network

    we tried a few different altitudes ranging from 30 feet AGL to 100 at 5 m/s. Same result. These test flights weren't long rang, the entire mission was only 2 waypoints, approximately 250 feet length mission. We'll try these test flights again using voxl-logger and try and diagnose the issues we're having.

    We really don't have anything better, sorry. The Sentinel is really intended to be a development platform, and not support any mission critical activities.

    Just tried to calibrated the stereo camera using ROS camera calibrator. Had to run the fixed voxl-mpa-to-ros. Because the ROS calibrator expects left and right to be exactly synchronized.

    Good day We are working on a Sentinel with VOXL2 and are getting a similar CMD warning as well as similar INFO logs. The documentation for VOXL MPA to ROS says "Coming soon", so does the voxl-mpa-to-ros package also work for VOXL2 on Sentinel?

    @tom Unfortunately it will be a few days before i can get that to you, but what i can do is list off the items i received. I received one sentinel drone with 5g modem and a set of propellers one pelican case 4 batteries 2 wall power adapters one alpha wireles dongle one voxl power module as pictured [image: 1680190839531-94fd33c4-5068-4aef-be6b-040f4f4c7f58-image.png] Note: the power module was taped to the alpha dongle (which was in the alpha box). from looking through the documentation the usb break out for the wifi on the drone with a 5G modem is the 4 pin JST GH for usb2.0 on the modem carrier board itself. it it looks like all i was missing was the cable that plugs into that board and the wifi dongle. i saw a shipping notification so it appears something is on its way. Thank you
