Hi,

I have a setup with a VOXL 2 with WiFi via the VOXL 2 WiFi Add-On Kit (MDK-M0151-1-02). It was working fine for a month (both in station mode and soft AP mode), but not it no longer seems to work.

When I use voxl-wifi and configure it for soft AP mode, I don't see the VOXL-... SSID broadcast in the list of WiFi SSIDs.

When I change it to station mode and try to connect to a WiFi network, it doesn't connect and voxl-my-ip always returns "none".

When I connect the Alfa WiFi dongle directly into the PC, no networks appear when it scans for WiFi networks; so the dongle doesn't work on my PC as well.

I also have a Starling 2 Max with WiFi so it uses the same model Alfa WiFi dongle. When I swap the dongle from the Starling 2 Max into my other VOXL 2, I'm able to see the VOXL-... SSID broadcast in the list of WiFi SSDs when I configure for soft AP mode and I'm able to connect to my WiFi network and get an IP address when in station mode.

Based on this, I assume there's an issue with the WiFi dongle. Is there anything else I can try? If not, is it possible to get a replacement dongle?

Hello @Kiran , the only TOF sensor that we currently sell is the following:

In terms of identifying unique features of individuals, you will have you decide whether this works for you. Here is a typical output of the this TOF sensor looking at a person. This is a depth image, but a point cloud output (for each frame) is also available. In order to build a map, you would need to use some mapper software (we provide a reference such as https://docs.modalai.com/voxl-mapper/). However you would need to be familiar with mapping algorithm(s) and learn how the software components work in order to get mapping to work well and tune it for your application.

The ModalAI ESCs used on Seeker have their own firmware and settings stored on the ESC itself, independent from PX4 so your ESC is fine after changing PX4 firmware.

Thanks, so what is the emulator for exactly? emulating native compilation? I am unclear of the emulator use case if it is not intended to emulate the voxl platform for application testing. Let me know, cheers!

Please see the updated readme on voxl-mapper's dev branch for an overview guide of this package. As for the timestamp too new error, this error typically arises when there is a VIO blowup, and one way to prevent this is by ensuring that the tracking camera is correctly calibrated pre-flight. Also, please see the overview guide for instructions on viewing, as RVIZ is no longer utilized!

I found the QGC
EKF2_AID_MASK parameter settings above (configuring to 280: Vision position fusion, vision yaw fusion, vision velocity fusion) to allow the seeker to enter position and off-board modes.

Prior to configuring, QGC was receiving VIO but was still unable to enter position mode as referenced here

It appears this happens when the sensors are not calibrated on the drone. voxl-vision-px4 picks up on sensor inconsistency and restarts PX4.

So, calibrated the sensors. Looks better

These are the dampeners we are using on VOXL Flight

The dampening may needed to be tuned for your flight platform though, and can definitely be different depending on flight dynamics. We have had a lot of success sticking a piece of foam between the plate and the frame.

Once you have voxl-portal started either via the command line or as a service, you can access the webserver on a device within the same network just by navigating to your voxl's IP address.
