@tom Yes, It still fail:

@Cai-Bill I would inspect the ESC wiring, both power and data to voxl2. When power is given to the drone do the LEDs on the ESC light up? Does it make any noise?
-
@tom
When I power on the drone, the ESC does light up blue and flash for a bit, then it turned off. The drone makes boot on noise. I check the wiring, all joint are connected to the broad. -
voxl2:~$ px4-qshell modalai_esc INFO [qshell] Send cmd: 'modalai_esc' ERROR [uORB] Error Sending [qshell_req] topic data over comm_channel ERROR [qshell] command timed out ERROR [qshell] Command failed voxl2:~$ px4-listener esc_status never published
I also tried px4-qshell modalai_esc and px4-listener esc_status, Both of them failed

@tom Hi Tom,
I'm still unable to figure out what happen to the ESC, I can only suspected the firmware or the wiring. Do you guys offer mailed in repair? -
@Cai-Bill We do: https://www.modalai.com/pages/rma
but I suspect it is a wiring / cable issue given the ESC is lighting up and the motors are chiming as expected

Any updates on this @Cai-Bill ? Was it a hardware-related issue? I am facing something similar.
-
@smilon Hello, if you are seeing the following error:
Error calling voxl_uart_init
, then there is some mismatch between thevoxl-esc
tools andlibvoxl_io
library or a similar issue.Please update to the latest SDK 1.1.1 to get everything in sync.
Thank you
Alex
-
@Alex-Kushleyev I agree, seems like a version mismatch. The newest SDK 1.1.2 was just released yesterday so we recommend you load that and try again.
-
@Alex-Kushleyev @Eric-Katzfey Thank you for clearing this up. I am trying to install SDK 1.1.2 but my host machine can't discover the VOXL2 as a fastboot device (I have made an issue here). I would appreciate if you have any recommendations to hop on there as it is an urgent issue.
