i connecting to modalai voxl flight deck,
i receiving it today, just wanted to be sure that i connecting the correct battery.

already add support for java, rest (with java spring), python and js/node.js.
changed also the web server to react with easy access.

I using the drone without any GPS module (don't need it)
but I could not to change from manual to mission nor off board.

when I change the gps to rc transmitter (first option) I was able to get move to mission
but only left stick worked (up down rotate) the second stick won't work (forward and rotation)

is there a way to move to mission without gps module?

Modal AI ESC&2203.5 -- I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work.

Battery voltage selection depends on how fast you need to spin the given prop of choice to generate sufficient lift/performance you need in your platform. If you spin the motor at one speed with 3S and that generates the performance you need then go with that. If you move to 4S and in doing so get the performance you want in terms of speed, endurance etc then go with 4S. Really depends on what your goals are. You can pick up a variety of battery pack configurations from any drone/FPV store and try those out -- just make sure you match your connector or get an adapter.

For something like the Zed2 you probably need some custom drivers on the VOXL to work properly.

I think we found the issue. this version of the holybro compass has the magometer mounted upside down and turned 90 right. we were able to orient the sensor in QGCS.

Thanks. I got it working and it appears to be calibrated. It also appears to be responding as intended with MAVROS when I publish to /mavros/setpoint_velocity/cmd_vel_unstamped

I tested with props off and powered via battery. I published 0,0,1,0 corresponding with vertical speed of 1 m/s up and the motors sped up. I then published 0,0,-1,0 and the motors slowed down as expected.

I haven't tried it but I was just able to publish to /mavros/setpoint_velocity/cmd_vel_unstamped and the motor speed appeared to respond as expected when testing without propellers. This only works if the drone is set to offboard mode.

The best place to start would be try to reinstall the Flight Core firmware. It sounds like the VOXL side of things is OK.

The most common failure mode for Flight Core is plugging USB into the R/C port. Any chance that happened?

What is the "basic drone bring up process"?

I can fly it in manual mode, it's not easy to fly, but I felt like its more due to my skill level as its behavior from virtual joystick was somewhat similar to when I tried virtual joystick with your RB5 drone.

It does drift noticeably. I think this drift is excessive but again, I'm not sure if it's an issue with the drone or my skill level using virtual joystick.

It didn't seem to respond to virtual joystick inputs in position mode but I didn't extensively enough test that mode. I'll test that mode again and see what happens.

it's not possible for a flight controller to have PID parameters for an unknown drone. Every drone has different tuning parameters. We sell the VOXL m500, pre-tuned and flight tested, just for this purpose.
