  • voxl-streamer gst_rtsp_server_attach failed

@tom that was during our troubleshooting of the hires camera, we set it to a few different settings to see if we could get video. i didnt realize that kicked off voxl-streamer as a service.

Sorry I assumed that it was supposed to be running, looking at earlier screenshots it was not running. Prior to that though, with voxl-streamer disabled and not running, we were still running into issues with rtsp streaming across our network. we would get a single frame and then nothing after.

    @tom thanks for the reply.

I am not sure what would have caused it to have voxl-streamer run as a systemd service.

The only voxl commands we gave were voxl-configure-modem and voxl-configure-vision-px4

We are having issues with streaming rtsp from the Sentinel 5G. We are attempting to view rtsp://ip.of.drone:8900/live on the GCS over a private 5G network. We have had success with this in the past but running into unforeseen issues.

We are getting sporadic frames and then nothing.

When we look at voxl-streamer -i hires we get Camera server connected
    error: gst_rtsp_server_attach failed

This is the first time i have run across this issue and we are not able to stream across our network.

@tom is that a common thing to have issues with? I have pretty good experience with PCBs and there does not look like any pin damage or lifting of the cage. It may have a total of 10 times for sim card removal. Again, it was working fine, powered off and when I went to power back on this week it was failing.

@tom i did stop/disable voxl-modem to troubleshoot. I did verify the board was seated properly as well and luckily no hard landings yet. Sim card is fully functional in a cell phone and was the same one i used last week for testing with no issues. I changed the APN to a few others to double check and get the same results.

quectel-CM commands show the same results.

    Good morning,
Having trouble connecting to network now, no changes to setup was flying over 5G the other day. Now I am not able to establish connection. Sim is good and is the same one I flew with. verified good 5G coverage and works with cellphone. Typically just powering Sentinel connects to wwan0 and tailscale.

@Eric-Katzfey, thanks for the response and clarifying.

I had a 3D Fix but wasnt able to switch from Manual to Position. I have worked on other projects with Ardupilot mission planner and it could blend or use best from different sources. I wasnt sure exactly how your implementation of GPS and VIO were working together on feeding positional data to the PX4 autopilot.

@James-Strawson If i stop and disable the VIO server will that still allow GPS to pass through? I am getting good satellite and HDOP but the GPS never transitions from flashing blue to green with the ekf2_outdoor_gps_baro params. it is causing the platform to not allow me to put it in POSCTL. I do not intend to do GPS denied flights at this time and am trying to focus on outdoor 5G flights for a while to build confidence in our GCS software interactions with VOXL.

@daniel what ended up being your fix? I was seeing the same issues yesterday with our Sentinel trying to do GPS only outdoor flights. It wouldn't ARM due to the GPS Speed Accuracy. Flashing blue for a minute or two and then turning green after what i assumed was VIO getting healthy.

@Eric-Katzfey I don't want to use the Sentinel VIO so was hoping there was a GPS Only No VIO params file. It seems like the one posted on the git is still looking at VIO.
