Can I run a server over LTE on VOXL?
-
I just installed a V2 LTE Modem addon with the RC7611 module.
Most things are working as expected, except that I am not able to connect to a server on VOXL if I attach it to the wwan0 (LTE) interface.
I can connect in the other direction (running a client through wwan0), and I can run the same code as a server over the wlan0 (WiFi) interface and that works fine.
Any idea why I can't connect to a server running on VOXL over the LTE interface? -
@Ed-Sutter If VOXL is using LTE in order to connect to the internet and you want to communicate with the VOXL, you'll have to use a VPN as an intermediary. See more info here: https://docs.modalai.com/voxl-vpn/#overview

@tom Ok, I see... It didn't occur to me that the IP address that is assigned to the LTE device is private; but, of course it is!
Just curious, has anyone tried solving this with STUN/TURN/ICE?@Ed-Sutter We're not aware of anyone using those. But we would love to have those available so if you get them working please let us know
