    I wanted to ask that is it possible to replace VOXL1 board (VOXL1 Flight deck) with VOXL2 on the m500 drone? Or do I need to buy a separate VOXL2 flight deck and remove the VOXL1 flight deck completely to accomodate the VOXL2.

        @Darshit-Desai I am not sure about the exact mountings... (meaning if the plastic case lines up with the holes), but you can do the same layout and connections with a flight core v2 and a voxl2

          @wilkinsaf Thank you for answering.

          I currently have a VOXL2 (board only), I was thinking of replacing the VOXL1 flight deck and before I move forward and tear apart a good working drone, I wanted confirmation from someone from the dev team about this thing.

          If the above thing is completely impossible, I am happy to buy a VOXL2 complete flight deck (containing the mounting points) with sensors.

            @Darshit-Desai I believe you would have to resplice your GPS and ESC cables at the very minimum. So, if you dont want to do that then i would buy a new one

              Hi @Darshit-Desai
              It depends on how "deep" you want to change.
              If you are hoping to use the same image sensors, that is not possible since you need all of the adapters that come with a Voxl2 Flight Deck.

              The Power module is the same.
              You can still plug in any modems/Microhard radios from your V1 drone into V2.

              The frame itself may have different tuning you need to do and to ensure your ESC is setup with your motor/prop combo.

              You will need many different cables between V1 and V2 on your drone due to the trend towards DroneCode compliant connectors on Voxl2.

              I encourage you to look at the differences in the drone hardware setups and breakdowns as we show it in the Voxl Bootcamp: https://docs.modalai.com/hardware-quickstart/
              And we'll let you make the call.

              If your time is of the essence, you might be best just jumping into a Voxl2 Flight Deck, and save the Voxl2 you have now for bench-top development. I foresee many days of effort and many little parts you will need to get to transform your drone over. And, as you stated, you risk taking your existing operational drone down, when it can be used as a great reference.
