Cable material/mass
-
Hello, I'm interested in the material/mass of these products:
Flex cable MFPC-M0010 Flex cable MPFC-M0008Does the cable attached to the M0072, M0014, or M0024 unit have the same material?
Also, when you report the mass of one of those units, I assume the "gold" ribbon cable and connector they come with are included in that mass?
Thanks so much,
-Laura

Hi @lljones
I'm not sure I completely understand what info you are after. Can you please clarify? What is your ultimate goal here? Those are FPC's using industry common laminates (polyimides) and copper. The black coverlay is an EMI shielding material from Tatsuta. All fairly common.
What "mass" numbers are you referring to? I am not aware of any mass/weight metrics we have ever posted on these.

@Vinny - I'm trying to do a mass roll up for my system, and wasn't sure how the cables are being reported- the values for mass I have right now must have been from internal estimates or discussions rather than posted values. Maybe a more clear question is: what is the mass for these components?
- Flex cable MFPC-M0010
- Flex cable MPFC-M0008
- M0024 107 deg (including gold ribbon cable and connector)
- M0024 146deg (including gold ribbon cable and connector)
- M0014 (including gold ribbon cable and connector)
- M0072 (including gold ribbon cable and connector)
Thanks for your help on the material question.

Hi @lljones
To my knowledge, we've never reported any weight of these flex cables in our tech docs locations.
https://docs.modalai.com/image-sensor-flexes-adapters/
and only sparsely posted some weights of image sensors:
https://docs.modalai.com/image-sensors/If you have physical samples of them (I do not have all of them in my possession), your best best is just to weigh them with your tools so you know you can get to your level of accuracy you need.
For example, we started providing weight, in grams, of our normal cables, but that measurement is only accurate to ~+/-0.5 grams. So, if you need more accuracy, sometimes you are better taking your own measurements. Sorry to push this on you, but it is the best path since only you know how accurate you need.

I have updated https://docs.modalai.com/image-sensors/ with the following
M0024-1 107° field of view (FOV), 3.78g
M0024-2 146° field of view (FOV), 2.95g
