  • Unable to connect to QGroundControl

    Let me know if you have any specific changes that would be applied to the mentioned file, I've just tried changing the mavlink start parameters to these below:

    mavlink start -u 14556 -t <my device IP>

    I've removed -m and -n for each tests I was running, initially it was ending with the -n lo -m custom from the sample line.

    Hi @modaltb ,

    Pings are working between the device and drone.
    From desktop to drone it isn't so a firewall might be blocking, but anyway, the desktop should not be an issue as I won't be using it, my focus is to have it working through the cellphone application.

    I've tried changing the config file but keep having the same message there.
    I'll change the devices here and give it another try.

  • Unable to connect to QGroundControl
    Francesco JacomelF Francesco Jacomel

    I've been trying to check the drone configuration and services but again I'm getting an error, below:

    Vehicle 1 did not respond to request for parameters. This will cause QGroundControl to be unable to display its full user interface.

    The QGroundControl (Mobile - iPhone) Version: is v4.0.1.0 (The mentioned error message appears for mobile only)
    QGroundControl (Windows Desktop) - Version: Development HEAD:f9ebc2720 2021-08-31 06:55:11 +0000 (Although no error message is shown, it won't connect anyway)
    I've tried Wifi networks uusing both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

    From the link https://docs.modalai.com/Qualcomm-Flight-RB5-sdk-services/#how-to-configure
    I could not see if there is any further configuration to be done to have it working.

    Let me know.

    I've set up a new network with very few restrictions and now it is connected to the network! Thank you very much for your support!

  • Can I control the drone through 5G (No Spektrum Transmitter) ?
    Francesco JacomelF Francesco Jacomel

    Hi Chad,

    Thanks for the directions.

    I was going through the initial setup and I'm stuck at the point to connect to QGroundControl.
    I'm at the same NW as the drone but when I check the status for the P4X it shows the following:

    sh-4.4# systemctl status rb5-px4-start
    ● rb5-px4-start.service - rb5-px4-start
       Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/rb5-px4-start.service; enabled; vendor pr
       **Active: inactive (dead)**
    lines 1-3/3 (END)

    I've tried disabling/enabling and rebooting but I still could not see the drone on the QGC app..

    Wifi is now up and running:

    sh-4.4# ifconfig wlan0
    wlan0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST>  mtu 1500
            inet 10.188.113.109  netmask 255.255.255.0  broadcast 10.188.113.255
            inet6 fe80::34d3:41a2:d468:53d2  prefixlen 64  scopeid 0x20<link>
            ether 00:03:7f:12:d8:ac  txqueuelen 3000  (Ethernet)
            RX packets 837  bytes 50588 (50.5 KB)
            RX errors 0  dropped 0  overruns 0  frame 0
            TX packets 849  bytes 62391 (62.3 KB)
            TX errors 0  dropped 0 overruns 0  carrier 0  collisions 0

    Let me know if any further configuration is necessary to have it available to connect on QGC.

  • RB5 unable to connect to hotspot
    Francesco JacomelF Francesco Jacomel

    @tom I've tried two different networks so far, one from my company so a firewall might be affecting the connection attempt through WPA, other using my iPhone Hotspot which is WPA2 so I'm unsure whether this might be an issue. I'm setting up a new one with no restrictions (no firewall, no wpa2).

    I'll update here accordingly.
    Thanks

    @modaltb It's the pretty same as I have here. 😞 I've tried keeping the pairwise and group for some attempts but also didn't work.

  • RB5 unable to connect to hotspot
    Francesco JacomelF Francesco Jacomel

    I've been trying to connect to different wifi networks and I'm unable to succeed on that.
    WPA supplicant file is being updated as below:

    ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
    update_config=1

    network={
    #WPA-PSK
            ssid="Test1"
            key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
            psk="abcdefgh"
    }

    And I just can't see any error but the connection is not established. Test1 is a hotspot on my cellphone, should I use WPA2-PSK instead?

    Hotspot settings are as follows:

    SSID:	Test1
    Protocol:	Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n)
    Security type:	WPA2-Personal
    Network band:	2.4 GHz
    Network channel:	1

    Thanks
