Additional PWN Connection Recommendation For VOXL2/IO - IO Currently Full
-
Hello Modal AI Team,
I'm currently running a voxl2 with a 0065 (IO Board) with the pwn adapter. I currently have all 8 pwn connections used (throttle/flaps/etc.). I want to add ideally 1-4 more connections. What is the recommended path? I understand this may be uncharted territory also.
Im thinking maybe buying another 0065 with the pwn adapter and try to connect it to one of the other ports on VOXL and then activate IO for that port via modifying startup script?

@Matt69 , Do you need the additional PWM outputs to be connected via PX4? If not, perhaps connecting M0065 to a cpu uart and communicating directly would be the simplest (i can help you with that).
Do you have spare SLPI UARTs?
Not sure if PX4 would support multiple voxl2-io drivers running, i guess that should work? I don't think we have tried it. if you have spare slpi uart ports, just give it a shot? There may be a problem with two actuator drivers having the same name.

At a bare minimum I just need the additional pwn channels to be controlled by joysticks via QGC. They don't need to be connected to PX4/Autopilot at this point. Does this allow for an easier solution?
Thanks!
Matt
