    I'm in the process of replacing the batteries for some Sentinels. I saw from the vehicle functional description that "Gens Ace 5000mAh, or any 3S battery with XT60 connector" is listed for the Sentinel platform but also noticed that the esc and power module used on the sentinel support up to 16.8V input (4s LiPo).

    Are there other limiting factors on the Sentinel that require using 3s LiPo instead of a 4s? Are there recommended ranges for capacity and discharge rate as well as voltage?

    Thanks

      @jmltt the drone is tuned to the battery that comes with it. If you change the battery, you may need to retune the drone. You should try to just use the recommended batteries and save a lot of time.

        I don't think we ordered any batteries when we ordered the drones, so we were using a different 3s LiPo battery to start with.

        Can you explain what I would have to do to retune the drone? I'm assuming we'd have to update the PX4 battery params. Would we have to recalibrate the esc or do anything else?

          @Moderator

          Assuming I stick with a 3s LiPo do I still have to retune the vehicle outside of updating the internal resistance and battery capacity in the px4 params?

            @jmltt no, if you use the standard battery all should work as expected
