    Hello,

Is there a recommended heatsink for the VOXL computer? We want to operate it in the temperature range -25 Celsius to 55 Celsius.

    Thanks,
    Nikhil

If yes, then can you recommend the part number, else, can you share the step/iges file of the board so we can design it ourselves.

      Thanks,
      Nikhil

We don't have a recommended heatsink. The two options we typically use:

        1. Use the airflow from the propellers. The drone's airflow is often enough to keep the Snapdragon running at full speed.
        2. Use the VOXL Cooling Fan. We have found this to have the best cooling/weight as compared to heatsinks

In general, airflow works better than heatsinks. But, understandably some use cases won't allow for a fan. If that's the case it is desirable to capture some of the airflow from the propellers if possible.

The 3D STEP file can be found at the datasheet

@Chad-Sweet is there an update to the tested temperature range of the VOXL? The last post I saw from February said it was from 0-55C but did not have full environmental test info.

We do have a customer who recently tested it was still operational at 85°C ambient

@Chad-Sweet has anyone tested the negative temp rating. Hoping to see a -20 c.
