Japan Radio Compliance and Battery Compatibility – Starling 2 C26/C27 and Starling 2 Max C29
-
Hello ModalAI Engineering Team,
We are considering purchasing the Starling 2 (C26/C27) and Starling 2 Max (C29) for indoor inspection applications in factories and warehouses in Japan.
We previously contacted ModalAI Sales and were directed to this technical forum for product-related technical questions.
Before purchasing, we would appreciate clarification on the following points.
1. Wireless communication and Japanese radio regulations
- Could you identify the radio modules used for remote control, Wi-Fi, video transmission, and telemetry on the C26, C27, and C29, including their model numbers and whether they have Japanese MIC/Giteki certification?
- If any modules are not certified for use in Japan, can they be replaced with Japan-certified alternatives?
- If so, which specific modules are compatible, and what hardware modifications or software configuration changes would be required?
- Can these replacements be performed by the customer?
2. Battery compatibility
- Could you provide the required battery specifications for each model, including voltage, capacity, physical dimensions, connector type, and discharge-current requirements?
- Do the supplied batteries fall under Japan's PSE requirements, and what is their compliance status, if applicable?
- Are there any verified compatible replacement batteries available from suppliers in Japan?
- Can the original batteries be shipped to Japan?
3. Battery chargers
ModalAI Sales informed us that battery chargers are not supplied.
- Which chargers would you recommend for safely charging these batteries using Japan's AC 100V, 50/60Hz power supply?
- Are there any recommended charger models available from suppliers in Japan?
- Are you aware of any recommended chargers with the applicable Japanese PSE compliance?
If specifications differ among the C26, C27, and C29 models, please provide model-specific information where possible.
Thank you for your assistance.
