M0024 what is the purpose of the holes on the back of the camera?
-
Hello. I have a M0024-2 camera, and am considering mounting the camera to my hardware by bonding the metallic square surface opposite the lens to my hardware. However, there are 4 small holes present on this face which I don't see in the smaller M0014 camera I also have. What is the purpose of these holes? I want to make sure I wouldn't be doing something detrimental by covering that face in epoxy (e.g. if they are for air venting or something like that).

Hi @mtcbj
That is the flex stiffener. Our older image modules used stainless steel. Some of our newer modules use laminate.
Those holes are likely just flex/FPC air escapes during the backer lamination process. They do not provide any functional purpose after assembly.
I see no issue filling them with epoxy.
Hope that helps!
