I am curious to know why there are 2x XT60 connectors on the Power module. Can either the Male or Female end of the connector be used to power the VOXL/VOXL2? Or should we only use the Male connector (the connector that connects to the wall power supply)?

I am new to the Remote ID rule that the FAA put out a couple of months ago. I had a few questions about the voxl-remote-id

voxl-remote-id
service generates a remote ID for you. To register new drones now, you need to add either a standard Remote ID or a broadcast Remote ID. Is this a standard Remote ID or a broadcast one?Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

I found out that the WiFi dongles were broken which is what was causing the issue
@Chad-Sweet I am also curious about the autotune feature and when it will be released. Any updates on this at this time?
Yep. It seems to be random. We tried different WiFi dongles and while it would fix the issue temporarily. It would cause issues a few days later.

I am attempting to connect to the WiFi using the Microhard Add-on board and the ALFA wifi dongle connected to the board using the JST USBA adapter. However, when I do voxl-wifi station <SSID> <Password>
. Nothing happens. No IP address is being seen under wlan0
when I do ifconfig
. I made sure the SSID and password are correct. Is this a known issue recently cause I don't remember having this much trouble before. This is a brand new VOXL2 board running 0.9.5.

Just adding to this thread. Is the only way to connect external sensors to the Linux processor through the USB ports on the Microhard add on board? And I2C is not possible?

According to this documentation (https://docs.modalai.com/voxl2-linux-user-guide/), we can use GPIO pins to power a LED for example. If so, what connector's GPIO do you recommend we use given there is a Microhard Add-on board, and all camera sensors are connected?

I need a flashlight that we can connect using USB or I2C on the VOXL/VOXL2. Do you have any product recommendations and/or ports we can use to connect the flashlight to on the VOXL/VOXL2?

Update: We are hitting a roadblock where adb shell
is not working and the device is not showing up under adb devices
. Could you help us here? We are able to SSH in fine but can't use the cable.

I was conducting some offboard to position flight mode transition tests. Where I move the RC sticks to a certain set threshold to have Pilot take control of the drone. However, during this transition, POS flight mode acts up and shoots the drone up into the ceiling even with the slightest touch on the sticks. Every time this happens, I noticed that the throttle shoots up to 80% thrust. Even though the stick is below 50%. The RC is calibrated properly as well. This occurs even when I touch the right stick which controls the Roll and Pitch and Throttle is left at 0. Wondering if anyone encountered this issue? Are there any params that you guys are familiar with to make this transition safer?

I re-flashed the drone with the new VOXL2 package and it seems to have fixed itself for the time being. I will post in this thread again if the issue springs back up.

The ToF sensor's orientation on VOXL portal is incorrect/deviated by 90 degrees on the pitch and yaw. We tried to edit the extrinsics.conf file to mitigate this issue but the pointcloud does not reflect this change in VOXL portal. Can you help me with this?
Once we change the extrinsics.conf, what services do we need to restart in order for the changes to take effect?
Device being used: VOXL & VOXL2 running the latest versions of voxl-suite and image
Sensor in question: ToF oriented horizontally on the VOXL deck with the lens on the right and the reflector on the left.

Yes, I believe so. We plugged it back in exactly how it was when we picked the drone up.
