Using Intel RealSense D455 over USB-Port on voxl2

Hello everyone,
I'd like to use a Intel RealSense D455 with the voxl2 board but i wasn't able to get it working (the device isn't even showing up in the /dev folder). The device is working and was tested on other machines.
Since it was mentioned in other posts here that the Intel RealSense products are not supported by the voxl SDK I'd like to know what steps theoretically need to be done in order to support this camera.Any help or links where i can find help are highly appreciated ^^!
