@tom i havent checked with vlc but i use the portal frequently, and there are no issues, the voxl 2 actually bricked after i last messaged you, i managed to restore it recently. Off topic, but related, i think i mightve had too much running, is stereo cameras used with vio at all?

Cause if not i think i should turn it off so that i can have only the hires, tracking and uvc camera on. I would like to be able to use position mode in the end so please let me know if disabling stereo will affect this.

heres the result

@tom using the nvidia decoder uses the nvidia graphics card onboard the ground computer to decode the stream, it should help process incoming frames faster. ive set it to default now, and rebooted. sadly still no difference in distortion

using the final ip and after some time, i get this error, then i get some frames, but it is distorted

currently using a 5g modem add-on with the voxl 2. i am not able to connect to the stream using the ip of the voxl2's vpn or the ip it gives when i run voxl-streamer. here is what it shows when running voxl-streamer -i hires.

and when on qgoundcontrol, it does not show up

im in the process of trying to setup voxl-streamer for the hires, and then test voxl-streamer using a uvc camera as well. any help trying to solve this issue would be of much help, thank you in advance

@Eric-Katzfey and @Vinny thank you for response, ive checked with the oscilloscope and it appears i am receiving signal. as for the wiring diagram, i have wrote it incorrectly. i went back and double checked and you are correct Mr.Vinny, i did, somehow still wire it correctly, but have not received frames. i think its best to move on the purethermal mini that was suggested. thank you all for your guidance, will update soon

@Alex-Kushleyev yes, it was blowing air away from the esc board, it was the side with the mcus, looks like

@Alex-Kushleyev The area we tested it was on a table and we held it down using some straps. The ID 0 ESC that changed in rpm is the one that became unsoldered, we noticed something wrong immediately since it would spin the propeller 2 rotations slowly then stop and repeat.

as for the fan, it was covering the whole 4-in-1 esc, one thing that mightve been an issue, maybe that it might’ve been too close and airflow couldn’t have been pulled efficiently.

@Chad-Sweet @Eric-Katzfey after some time setting up, ive followed the steps provided here https://docs.modalai.com/voxl-flir-server/ , ive also wired the lepton camera ive purchased here https://www.sparkfun.com/products/15948 using this pin out table, and using the J10 connection on the voxl 2.

ive tested it to see if any feed came through but no window or debug stats have been displayed. My hardware is a voxl 2 with the 5g modem add-on. ive also taken a look at the purethermal mini as suggested, that will be my goto if this setup does not work, do you have any suggestions? thank you both in advance

@Alex-Kushleyev we have ordered the voxl2 i/o board and we will receive it the 21st of this month and Thank you for taking the time, we appreciate any help you can provide.

just want to mention we are loving the voxl 2 so far, we cant wait to begin test flying, your team has done great work!

@Alex-Kushleyev we ran 70%, had a 12v cooling fan attached, 50% and 60% went well temperature was below 80c for full minute runs. 10 seconds in for 70%, 130c , it unsoldered itself, i knew it was a possibility and these things happen so no harm at all, simply means we must try another approach. As for the data you were asking, is there a log somewhere, so i can give you detailed information? and we plan on using standard pwm.

@Alex-Kushleyev Update: it looks as though during my testing, 2 mosfets unsoldered themselves. I think it may be best to try something else, im glad we went through this, as we plan on getting a second voxl2 and plan on making very small and compact compared to this one.

We want to try again with calibration, but it looks like we will need the voxl2 i/o if we want to use these motors with 40 amp escs. Is there setup necessary? And Do you have a gitlab link for esc calibration steps regarding voxl 2 i/o?
