      Actually, I realized that the Hold mode can be switched back to Position mode once I move sticks more than 30%. However, the switching from Position to Hold mode was too fast (i.e., within 1 second), so whatever changes during that time was discarded and after moving 30% of sticks in order to switch from Hold to Position, the Altitude is either too high or too low for the next move.

      Do you know which parameters postpone the process of switching from Position to Hold mode? Thank you.

    • Why does QRB5 switch from Position mode to Hold mode?

      Hi Dev Team,

      I flew the QRB5 in an outdoor environment with GPS only (EKF2_AID_MASK=1, please see image EKF2_AID_MASK); and the GPS signal is very good (with 32 satellites, errors are below 0.8m).
      However, whenever I switched the drone to Position mode, it automatically switched back to Hold mode after a few seconds.

      Do you know what is the reason and how to configure the drone to let it runs in Position mode without VIO? Thank you.

      I check the 4 red gummies are intact.

      But I mistakenly did some calibration on sensors (Compass, Accelerometer, and Level Horizon), and switched to AutoTune in PID tuning via QGC. I guess these steps changed the shipping conditions of the drone.
      How can I obtain the original conditions and load into the drone again?

      Hi Dev Team,

      I have bought QRB5 recently and flew it twice, but the drone seems unstable. Especially for throttle, it changes suddenly high and low even I move the throttle very small movement.
      Now, I would like to re-calibrate the PID and sensors of the drone via QGC to make it stabilize. Could you please guide me on how to do it?
      I read a PID tuning procedure for PX4, but it requires to "arm, take off, and hover" before tuning PID (i.e., step 1). Can I do PID tuning without take-off because I feel the drone is very unstable to take off even around 2-3 m high?

    • Help to debug why QRB5 crashed

      Last Friday, I flew the QRB5 outdoor with manual mode (2nd attempt outdoor after purchase). We set up a laptop as a Wi-Fi hotspot which allows QRB5 to connect to QGroundControl (QGC) for controlling the drone. Besides the QGroundControl, we have an RC controller (i.e., DX6e) for manual mode and emergency brake. But we face the following issues:

      • Out of control drone: Increase throttle small but the drone flew very high, and decrease throttle small but the drone tried to land immediately. Even though we tried to increase the throttle right after the decreasing attitude, the drone did not respond to the command from RC. After it crashed into the ground, it flew again due to delayed commands of increasing throttle that had been received. In this flight log, we used Manual mode to control the QRB5 drone via RC controller. Can see the video here
      • Intermittent connection between QRB5 and QGC via WiFi: the connection is OK if the drone was put nearby the Laptop (within 5m); however, the connection was lost (most of the time) when we moved the QRB5 further the laptop (around 10m).
      • Cannot send a Mission fly paths via QGroundControl: We can set many modes available in QGroundControl (e.g., Manual, Stabilized, Attitude, Position, Takeff, Offboard). After defining a Fence (for safety fly zone) and a Mission, we uploaded successfully to the QRB5. But we could not activate the mission (the QGC alarmed there was a critical check not passed, but not clear what?).

      Could you (e.g., tech team) help identify the issues and guide how to fix them? Thank you.

      As a backup solution, we mount a 4K USB camera and successfully stream 4K video via GStreamer to QGC. But the video is shaky when flying drone (streaming video is OK with a stationary drone). @Eric-Katzfey Do the Tech Team have any suggestions on:

      • Stabilizing the 4K streaming video with GStreamer via software?
      • Any suggested 3-axes gimbal that we can buy and mount on the QRB5 Drone in order to stabilize the camera?
