ESCs not "seeing" VOXL Flight FC
-
So I'm building a manned aircraft/multicopter, using an Arduino-enabled set of joysticks for input. They're working fine and I can see them on QGC.
My only issue is that my ESCs aren't recognizing that they're plugged into a FC. I've calibrated all sensors, added an external compass, etc. Everything seems fine with the VOXL. I'm getting a flaking alternating blue and green light though. If I arm the VOXL through the joysticks, it works, and I get a steady green for a few seconds, flying which time the ESCs still don't see the FC. But then it goes back to flashing blue and green.
Not sure where to look. Guessing it's something simple but I'm out of ideas?
Anyone have a thought or similar experience? Thanks

You should have our PX4 version by default on the flight controller (https://docs.modalai.com/flight-core-firmware/#v111-change-log), which has the UART ESC driver.
Have you checked out this yet? https://docs.modalai.com/modal-esc-px4-user-guide/

It's unlikely Pete is using our ESCs. It sounds like the issue is connecting the digital joysticks properly using QGroundControl. The PX4 documentation is the best resource for this. Our Flight Core implementation should be identical to stock PX4 1.11 in this regard, the documentation is here: https://docs.qgroundcontrol.com/master/en/SetupView/Joystick.html

DOH! Totally made a wrong an assumption there...... OK holler if you're still having issues!

Is the Flight Controller on the VOXL compadible with BLHeli Suite (32 Bit) ESCs?

Yes that shouldn’t be a problem.
