      Hi team,
I am wondering how to enable LVDS data streaming on VOXL m500 for a fast data transfer? In my case, I would try to connect a sensor that offers LVDS for data streaming on VOXL.

I am wondering if I could use the below HDMI connector via the J2, and use an HDMI to LVDS adapter to bridge the sensor?
      https://docs.modalai.com/hdmi-input-accessory-datasheet/

Please advise if there are any other connection solutions to achieve this. Thanks.

@yu-zhang Unfortunately, ModalAI's HDMI accessory has been discontinued and is no longer available. We do not support an LVDS input.

@Eric-Katzfey I see, so in this case, only the J8 could be used as a USB3.0 port (connecting with a USB3.0 Female A Plug to Micro-B plug) to enable a standard data input, right?

The sensor I used has a 60pin Samtec connector (the shape is identical as J13 on VOXL but with a different wiring design) offering LVDS data streaming. It requires a throughput rate at 400Mbps - 1Gbps.

So, I am wondering whether the J8 could handle it if I find a LVDS-to-USB3.0 adapter?

@yu-zhang J8 is a USB 3.0 OTG (Meaning it can be either master or slave) port. You could certainly use that for data input, but then you would lose your adb port.

@Eric-Katzfey All right, thanks for that!

I think I could use the extended USB board to enable the adb by a micro USB port. I will then have a try J8.

@yu-zhang adb works as a USB "device" and attaches to a USB "host" (e.g. your PC). The only port that can act as a USB device is J8. The other ports are USB host only.

@Eric-Katzfey Thanks for reminding me about this 😉 So, I may have to switch to using the J8 in different scenarios.
