VOXL-Streamer 64bit
-
I see that the build for qrb5165 on
voxl-streamer
supports 64-bit binaries. Is there any plan to migrate apq8096 to 64 in alignment with all of the othervoxl-*
services and libs?Hypothetically, if I wanted to migrate to a 64-bit gstreamer it looks like I'd need to work through the Yocto build of the system image and update to a 64-bit version. Is that generally correct? Around here? https://gitlab.com/voxl-public/system-image-build/meta-voxl/-/blob/master/recipes-products/images/machine-drone-image.bbappend
Thanks for any tips!

@stevet Yes, that is the case. But it may not be possible without full access to the complete system image build. And it is also possible that there are dependencies on Qualcomm provided libraries that are only available as 32 bit binaries.

@Eric-Katzfey apologies for resurrecting an old post.
I wanted to add some other changes to the system image build outside of the voxl-stream question above.
Am I understanding correctly that while
meta-voxl
incorporates some of the fixes and additions Modal/You have created that we would also need the base image provided by Qualcomm in order to actually create an image I can flash to the VOXL/VOXL2?Is there a process (and I assume QC license) to get access to a full image build if we want to augment it?
Thanks,
Steve -
@Steve-Turner Yes, there definitely is a process to get access but I'm not aware of the details. I'll see if I can get a better answer.

@Eric-Katzfey awesome! Thanks for looking into that.
Out of curiosity does building the system image get any easier with the VOXL2? I assume still the QRB/Qualcomm proprietary layers but maybe easier since it's Ubuntu on top?

@Steve-Turner It doesn't look like we can offer any good advice on how you can get your own QC license. It's definitely not a cheap or easy process. However, we will continue to open up our system image build process as much as we can and are happy to accept requests for enhancements.

@Eric-Katzfey OK good to know. Thanks for looking into that. Is there a good email I can reach out to discuss further with you?
