      Hello,

      We are interested in purchasing two Starling 2 Max GPS-denied development drones (specifically MRB-D0012-4-V3-C29-M11-T9-K3), but there were a few things we would like some clarification on before deciding on the purchase:

      1. In the C29 configuration, where is the ToF sensor mounted? Is it similar to the regular Starling 2? I am assuming so but I did not see an image showing the location or the product page or documentation confirming it.

      2. With the C29 configuration and the ToF sensor, does this mean that the Starling 2 Max has the same indoor SLAM/navigation capabilities out of the box like the Starling 2 indoor SLAM development drone? The product brief doesn't seem mention this at all. I'm assuming it should after installing voxl-mapper based on how the VOXL2 SDK works, but I figured I'd confirm here.

      3. Can we purchase the FLIR Lepton thermal sensor integrated with the Starling 2 Max from directly from you? How would this affect lead times? If not, it seems from prior posts this can be something we can easily integrate ourselves later, but I figured I'd ask.

      4. How many batteries ship with the sku listed above?

      I apologize in advance if these were already answered elsewhere. Thanks for your help!

      James

        @jimbow77 ,

        1. here is what the TOF sensor mounting looks like, right next to front-facing IMX412 and AR0144 cameras.

        2. Starling 2 and Starling 2 Max are very similar in terms of what software they are running. If you are able to run the mapping / navigation on a Starling 2, then you should be able to follow the same steps to get it to work on Starling 2 Max (sorry for lack of details, but it seems you just want to confirm that the same functionality is supported, and the answer is yes). Please note that getting the navigation and mapping to work well in your application will require testing and tuning.

        I will check regarding 3 and 4 and get back to you.

        Alex

          @jimbow77 , regarding #4, there are four batteries (two sets).

          #3 - we don't have an option to install FLIR Lepton, but you can purchase it separately (from another vendor) and install it. The adapter is present in Starling 2 Max, so you would just need to install the Lepton sensor into the socket.
