HITL setup for VOXL2 + Flight Core V2 Help

Hello, I need some guidance in setting up HITL for the voxl2 with external flight controller, voxl flight core v2 in my case. I followed the HITL guide in ModalAI docs, as well as the YouTube tutorials but they individually either show setting it up for voxl2 or flight core by themselves.
I was able to get gazebo running with voxl-px4-hitl but only with voxl2 imu’s not the flight core.
My drone flies correctly with flight core v2 connected to the voxl2 over UART so no issues with the setup but I’d like to test off board functions in HITL with the same hardware config before flying.
Is there a simple way or something I’m missing to allow the HITL setup to recognize the use of an external fc?

@Gary-Holmgren Hi Gary, we have not thought to try that setup as HITL is typically used to develop the lower level flight controller. What are you trying to achieve?
