VOXL 2 Mini apps IMU showing "PCB damage" / clock line disconnected
-
Running into intermittent IMU dropouts on my VOXL 2 Mini (M0104, SDK 1.8.06). VIO works for a while, then voxl-inspect-vins shows IMU_MISSING and pose stops updating for several seconds at a time. It recovers, but only after a service restart.
Checked journalctl -u voxl-imu-server and found this on startup:trying BMI270 on bus 3 NOT BMI270, WHOAMI returned 0, expected 36 trying ICM42688 on bus 3 ERROR in test_basic_read, read the same values twice WARNING initializing 42688, clock line may be disconnected, trying to turn it off 42688 IMU works without clock line, this indicates PCB damageThe driver is falling back to clockless mode on the ICM-42688p and running degraded. CPU isn't overloaded, no vibration during dropouts (just handheld walking around). Is "PCB damage" here a hard fault that needs RMA, or is there a config workaround?

Hi Cbay,
There is a small clock buffer on the edge of the PCB. An RMA can only replace the whole board, not replace a single device. The part to check would be here:
