My v2 modem is missing the connector to plug into the voxl j13 slot. I'm wondering where I would buy this connector and why it is missing in the board I bought?

and one that functions as a "standalone" as a USB device that can work with other products: https://www.modalai.com/products/4g-usb?variant=32699752185907
Is it possible you ordered the standalone?
You can see in this picture, there are a lot of components not installed on the standalone version, so it's more than just the 60-pin J1 (J13 mate):
