Dear Forum Members,
I hope this message finds you all well. I am reaching out as a new Ph.D. student in the field of robotics and control, thrilled to be a part of this community. Our team is currently in the process of selecting quadrotors for testing our control algorithms, and after careful consideration, we are leaning toward the VOXL m500. As I delve into the specifics, I have a few questions and would greatly appreciate your guidance:
-
Accessibility to Drone Features:
Could you kindly elaborate on the level of access we have to the drone? Specifically, are we able to utilize data from its sensors and implement our algorithms on-board to directly control the propellers? -
Add-on and Receiver Options:
I've noticed various choices for "Add-on" and "Receiver." Are there existing comparisons of these options, or do you have recommendations based on your experiences? Additionally, would it be advisable to invest in the Spektrum RC transmitter compatible with the mentioned hardware? How many LiPo batteries would you recommend for optimal performance?
I genuinely appreciate your time and expertise, especially as I navigate my way through the fascinating world of drones as a total rookie. Your insights will undoubtedly contribute significantly to our decision-making process.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards,
Hanyang
