# FPV ESC with Ardupilot

Hello, I have bought an ModalAI Flight Core and a VOXL FPV 4-in-1 ESC. I have the Flight Core set up to use Ardupilot and previously running with 4 separate ESCs. I was hoping to be able to use the VOXL ESC instead, but I can't find any documentation on how to set up the ESC with Ardupilot, only PX4. Does anyone have any advice on this, please? If it's only possible to run the ESC in PWM mode, that is okay. Please note that I am not using a VOXL board, just the Flight Core. Thank you.

@Robert-Boffey Currently ArduPilot only supports use of the ModalAI ESCs on the VOXL 2 platform. We hope to add support for our ESCs in ArduPilot on ChibiOS platforms as well in the future but it isn't available now.

I have similar query. Not exactly the same, but I want to run ardupilot along with Voxl fpv 4 in 1 ESC. 
Ardupilot on 3rd party FC. 

The architecture that I would like to try out is :

Voxl 2 ---> 3 rd Party FC (with ardupilot)----> voxl FPV 4 in 1 ESC

Especially since flight core v2 has reached EOL. Is any new FC being release?

Please help me out here.

Yes, unfortunately the answer is still the same. Our ESC is not yet supported by ArduPilot on ChibiOS platform so can only be used when running ArduPilot directly on VOXL2. Why do you need the separate FC hardware?

@Eric-Katzfey thank you for reverting back, I am using an Optical flow along with FC for position hold, for the scenarios where the VIO fails. 
My current architecture has voxl 2 + flight core v2 + optical flow attached to the Flight core + voxl FPV esc.

Please could you give me update whether a new FC is coming up. It would help me reconsider the architecture.

What is the physical connection between the Optical flow unit and the FC? Is it a UART? Which optical flow unit are you using?
