Hello everyone,

how can I install Ardupilot (for a fixed wing) on the VOXL2 instead of px4?
I found older posts about this but maybe there is an update in the meantime.

Best regards
Tom

@TomP Ardupilot is not yet available to run directly on VOXL 2 (But coming soon!)

@Eric-Katzfey Does soon mean weeks, months or years? :)

@TomP That's a great question! The PR for ArduPilot is here: https://github.com/ArduPilot/ardupilot/pull/27091. It was discussed at yesterdays dev meeting but hasn't been merged in yet. We don't have control over that process but we're hoping that it will make it in at the next meeting. However, we also need to update some components in the SDK to be compatible with ArduPilot. And the initial focus has only been on quadcopter, not fixed wing. Here is a video of a ModalAI VOXL 2 based quadcopter flying with ArduPilot: https://youtu.be/l6c65-E-lzg?si=PwqBp2TSB1SL2k-w. So, we can't provide an exact answer to the question just yet but I think you can see that things are progressing nicely. And if you are an experienced user willing to deal with pre-release / beta level messiness then we can discuss setting you up with something to try.

@Andrew-Tridgell Excellent! We'll test that on Monday.

@TomP You will need some SDK updates to support it and those are not quite available yet. I'm hoping to have them available by the end of this week.

@Eric-Katzfey All right. We look forward to the update.
