# IMX214 with m12 mount

Hi,
We are using the imx214 sensor. However, we can't get very good image quality out of it. The small version (8x8x5.8) seems blurry on pixel level and the (10x10x16) version has quite a lot lens distortion.

We were wondering what the quality would be with another lens, so we assembled an m12 lens mount on this sensor, see picture. We used a 4mm lens and this gave better quality (comparable with imx377 which we used before).

Is there an option that the imx214 will be delivered with an m12 mount? Or do you have other ideas to improve image quality?

That's awesome, but no we do not have plans for another imx214 module

But yes, the larger the lens, the better the image

Our IMX412 module has much better image quality than the IMX214, and it uses an M12 lens out of the gate

Thanks! Would it be an option to order the imx214 without lens mount? To make it easier for us to put an m12 mount on it?

Yes, we have very good experience with imx412 and will use them, but need a smaller one as well.

We wouldn't know how to do that safely or robustly, the arrive from our CM fully assembled, we test and focus in house but that is it

Ok, we will find out if we can do it ourselves, or just find another m9 lens.
