# Does ModalAI ESC V2 need ESC calibration

Hello,
 I am using system image 3.8.0 on VOXLCAM. I am integrating [ModalAI ESC V2](https://www.modalai.com/products/voxl-esc) on my multi-rotor platform and I was curious if I need to perform ESC calibration with QGC or with [Voxl-esc calibration tool](https://docs.modalai.com/flight-core-pwm-esc-calibration/) before procedding with full loop execution?
